San Francisco's duo of Sneak-E Pete and Anthony Mansfield share the same sickness when it comes to hunting for that perfect groove. The two met on four turntables at a full-moon party in New York over a decade ago and realized that they shared fierce obsessions with funk, rare breaks, disco, electro and house music. Many years passed but both DJ's eventually relocated to San Francisco, continuing to promote underground events and create their own music. Pete and Anthony also co-founded labels, Blunted Funk and Hector Works respectively, which have released a mixed bag of quality tunes. One of the more notable releases is Joshua's remix of "Pool Party" on Hector Works featured on Mark Farina's Ministry of Sound mix, which originally was a limited vinyl release and hidden weapon among the house elite. Both continue to work on new releases for their own labels, including joint projects as 'The Corsican Brothers' for MobBeats. Anthony Mansfield works with nudisco wizard Ben Cook as "Barfly' and their work has been seen on multiple releases for Rong Music including a new rework of the band Freeblood. Anthony's collaborations with label mate Nick Chacona in 2007 also saw remixes for The Greenskeepers on OM Records and Sasse for Mood Music.
The goal of this collaboration is to offer fresh weekly mixes featuring producers and remixers from our labels, as well as regular guests from our underground parties in San Francisco. In the first few months look for exclusive sets and tons of new material from Makossa, Joshua IZ, Ben Cook, Nick Chacona, Tim Love Lee, Jeno and Garth, Brennan Green and many others. Bokurano ongaku de moriagatte!
