Jon Kennedy is one of those guys who are so into their music that their enthusiasm is contagious. A renowned primo selektor and accomplished producer Jon has rocked parties around the world, his mashed up sets and live performances never failing to put a smile on everyone's face. The Stockportian has been in the game for a fair few years now building his name through a stream of quality releases and remixes on top UK labels Tru Thoughts and Grand Central. His style is hard to describe, there's elements of funk, soul and hip hop, always a beat and definitely an intent to get you grooving but apart from that don't expect anything apart from good music, because that's what Jon does, makes and opens people's ears to good new music.
Naturally the next step for Jon was to take advantage of his keen A&R ear and make some money out of it and so The Jon Kennedy Federation, his new label has been born. It's tough times in the music game but if anyone can make a go of it we're sure Jon can and from the sound of the tracks so far he's on the right track. We've been badgering Jon for a while now about making a radio show for us and finally he's relented and come up with Snare Force One, a typical Kennedy mash up of quality tracks old and new mixed with his unique northern banter, it'll make you wonder why no-one has had the good sense to give him a radio show before.
