We're a collection of DJs, surfers, skaters, designers, promoters, musicians, record nerds, film-makers and yo-yo champs. We firmly believe that the listener deserves more. We think that the world doesn't move to the beat of just one drum. To stay true to our listeners and ourselves we've only ever released music that we like.
Since its inception, Ubiquity has grown into a company with several imprints: Luv n' Haight remains the home for re-issue of rare groove gems with over 50 releases, CuBop is the Latin jazz arm with just over 40 releases, and Ubiquity has over 200 releases ranging from hip-hop to funk to cutting edge club music. With a worldwide distribution network, and over 300 releases the label is constantly striving to live up to it's name, originally chosen because the label wanted to make unheard music available everywhere.
New musical releases for 2007 include several new signings and many of our favorite Ubiquity acts return. Greyboy is finishing his new album which includes guests such as Casual and Nino Moschella (He's also recently remixed Cake). PPP and Ohmega Watts are working on their second albums for release in 2007 with long awaited and eager collaborations.
Our family of LA-based acts continues to grow as Sa-Ra Creative Partners and Connie Price and the Keystones come through with albums. New act the Lions (featuring musicians with credits that include Macy Grey, Antibalas, Big Daddy Kane, Breakestra, etc) will be dropping soulful Jamaican-inspired tunes. More info on the Lions soon! CuBop legends Francisco Aguabella and Bobby Matos will also return with new releases.
Luv N'Haight releases will include second volumes of the Gilles Peterson Digs America and California Soul series, plus re-issues from Malone Barnes, Joi and many more.
